FROM FAT TO FIT: WEEK 2

All I can say is WOW! The first week of my Curvy Girl Fitness plan consisted of detoxing and it was not easy. The meals were much smaller compared to what I am accustomed to consuming. I am sick and tired of drinking water, but I forced myself to drink at least one gallon a day, most days even more. And how could I forget my body aches. Epsom salt baths, the steamy sauna and icing my knees did not seem to help one bit. Muscles were sore I did not even know existed.

 

Monday morning was my start day. To keep up with my schedule, I set timers in my phone. First, my 4:30 AM alarm would go off to wake me up. I am not an early riser so this was tough for me. The alarm was so loud and annoying it felt like someone brought a sledgehammer down on my brain. I rolled out of bed, stumbled into the bathroom to brush my teeth, and dragged my feet to the kitchen to turn on the tea kettle. I quickly got dressed in my workout clothes and drank my detox tea before heading out the door. I made it to the gym before the doors were even opened. By 5:00 AM I was starting my first workout of the day. At 6:00 AM I was stretching in the hot sauna and in my car headed home by 6:15 AM. At 7:00 AM my alarm rang again, this time for my first meal of the day. Every few hours the super loud alarm would go off, signaling for me to eat another extremely small meal.

 

After work, I dressed in my leggings and a sweat resistant tank top and headed back to the gym for my second workout of the day around 4:00 PM. “One quick hour and I am out of here,” I told myself. Once home, I ate, showered, and watched a television program if I was lucky. By 9:00 PM I was tucked away in bed because I knew that I would have to do it all over again the next day. This has been my consistent routine for the last six days. On day seven I rested. Even God rested on the 7th day.

 

On Sunday I meal prepped, took photos of my body at different angles and weighed in. I stepped on the scale hopeful that all my hard work would pay off. I saw the number on the scale and my eyeballs almost popped out of the socket in disbelief. According to the number on the scale, I had dropped 15 lbs. in my first week! I smiled like a Cheshire cat, jumped off the scale and busted out some dance moves. I was ecstatic. My lifestyle change was working. I was seeing some serious results. I was even more motivated to kick off week two. Alright, here goes nothing.
