FROM FAT TO FIT: WEEK 5Aug 14, 2017
Sunday is usually my meal prep day. I cooked a big pot of turkey chili, lemon pepper tilapia, and Cajun chicken. I made sure to make some green vegetables to compliment the dishes. Whole green beans and small garden salads packed in mason jars were my selection. I spent my lazy Sunday at church, completing household chores, meal prepping and relaxing on the couch. I knew I had another week of the program remaining, perhaps the most important yet.
Monday morning the alarm rang so loud it startled me. I still have not got accustomed to my 4:30am wake up time. I hit the snooze button on my alarm and stayed in the bed until my 4:40 am iPhone alarm rang. I rolled out of bed, performed my morning hygiene routine and was drinking my Peach flavored detox tea as I prepared for today’s gym session. I arrived to the gym as the doors were opening. This week would include cardio and strength training. An hour came and went and my workout had now concluded. Egg whites and two pieces of turkey bacon was my choice for breakfast. I quickly gulped down two glasses of lemon flavored H2O and made my way to the hot, steamy shower. “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” was my motto for the week.
Tuesday was a tough one for me. I opened my eyes and starred at the ceiling when my 4:30 am alarm went off. I sat up slowly and stood to my feet even slower. I attempted to stretch because my muscles were so sore. I was tired and feeling unmotivated to go to the gym. I put my workout clothes on anyway. I climbed onto the treadmill anyway. I pressed ‘Quick Start’ and adjusted the speed and incline anyway. After my 60-minute gym session, I was extremely proud of myself that despite the lack of motivation, I remained discipline to still get the job done!
Wednesday and Thursday were a blur to me. Nothing eventful that I care to mention. My routine was pretty much the same. By Friday, I was looking forward to my final workout for the week. On Sunday morning, I climbed on the scale and was excited to see that I had lost 1.5 pounds this week. That brought my monthly total to 19.5 pounds. I was ecstatic so I celebrated with a cheat meal, a double cheeseburger, large fries and a sweet tea. It probably sounds counterproductive, but in my mind I deserved a cheat meal so after all my hard work, I had one. Now the real work would begin. I had to maintain the weight lost and continue to shed unwanted pounds. I decided my new challenge on my Curvy Girl Fitness plan would be to implement vegetarian days. So starting tomorrow, and for the entire next month, I will incorporate “Meatless Mondays.” One thought comes to mind…. Pray For Me!!!Back
